Topic: controler not detected error message

I have suddenly been getting a 'controler not detected' error message when attempting to run virtual dj on my vista laptop. The strange thing is that the mk console lights up and the hercules drivers are all working fine and I was using the mixer with no problems at all. Is this possibly an error in Vista or perhaps a driver problem?
