Topic: XP service pak upgrade brings problems

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

After bothered by the pop ups from Microsoft, I finally downloaded the XP service pak upgrade 2. BIG MISTAKE!! Can someone help me? Every time I turn on my computer and plug in the dj console, my computer doesn't recognize the console and a pop up comes on saying to install the software cd for updates to add hardware. How can I circumvent this issue without having to put the cd's in? What I have been doing is getting the driver from the hercules website and opening it, thus deleting all record of the dj console, then installing the driver again into my computer. I'm sick of doing this each and every time! Help!!

I dont recommend sp2 for dj and music applications.
It has mostly security updates. And it may cause some proplems.
But your problem probably comes from another reason.
If you plug the console on a usb port other than the one
it was at the time of installation, (and every time you change
usb port), windows ask for cd to install again.
It is the same with other usb devices.
Follow the guide (next->next) without the cd on the drive.
Windows must found the .inf file and install again.

Let me know if it work for you

I am running SP2 with no issues.
Are U plugging it into the same USB port each time?

U can try this
remove hercules drivers
reboot
reinstall hercules drivers

if that doesnt work, reload your OS
