Utilizing a new Dell Lattitude 630 with 2G of ram and an 80G hard drive
latest version of vdj and here's what happens...
Videos play fine on deck one, (or two, whichever you first start playing videos with.)
The moment you start another video, the audio continues to play but the video totally freezes.. It won't restart unless I maniplulate the video in some way, resize vdj, scratch the song, etc.. If I don't touch anything the video will stay there frozen..
But the moment I touch it, it plays for a few more seconds and the freezes again. All the while the video playing on the first deck works just fine.
I've totally formatted the machine, and threw on a standard version of winxp pro thinking it might be some Dell crackrock they through in thier standard build, but alas, the ONLY things I have loaded are xp (latest patches) the drivers for the videocard and vdj.
Same deal.. ARGH
Now here's the kicker.. Everything works if I turn off acceleration.. Though of course looks terrible.. No skips, nothing..
The videocard I've got in the machine is the Dell Nvidia Quadro NVS 135M
Anyone have any advice

sounds like a memory problem. Does your video have it's own memory or is it sharing off the MB? Eventually you may get the blue screen of death. Click on your task manager to check your cpu performance. That's were I would start first.

The same thing happens to me. I have version 5.0 numark virtual vinyl. I have 2 gig's of memory with a dual core intel processor t2060, 533 fsb. Do you still think it's a memory problem? If so what is my solution in detail?

More then likely its a video card problem.

Now for more fun on this topic.
I went out and purchased a IBM t61p with a Nvidia Quadro 570m
****SAME FREAKING PROBLEM****
What's worse is that I've done the fix using rivatuner and turning off turbocache, the card doesn't appear to be listening to the option and is still allocating 512m to the card (256m of system memory)
Needless to say I'm quite irritated, as I now have ****2**** seperate laptops with 2 seperate generations of nvidia cards with a value of about $4k total and **NONE** of them seem to work
Furthermore, I hear nothing from the VDJ team with their thoughts on how to fix this issue. Being a professional user for many years I have to say I'm quite pissed.

It's the Chip and from the description nothing is dedicated with these Quadro chips --
NVIDIA Quadro Unified Memory Architecture
Allows for superior memory management, which efficiently allocates and shares memory resources between concurrent graphics windows and applications.
And both machines are Vista Correct ? Because the 570M is Vista DirectX 10 only.
Btw, IBM calls it 'discrete' memory --
NVIDIA Quadro® FX 570M with 256MB discrete memory -- which begs to question why your's is allocating 512 since this is not a Turbo Cache design and you should not be needing to use the RivaTuner to modify it.

*******FIX*******
I installed windows vista, and the proper video drivers..
IT WORKS! No issue!
So if you got a crap videocard then you might want to install vista, I'm going to try it on the other laptop and see if it works there as well.. I report if it does.

It's not that it is a Crap video card... it is that both those cards are designed for DirectX 10 -- which is Vista Only.

Do you have the 14' t61p (128mb vid ram) or the 15.4 t61p(256Mb vid Ram)? I am interested in doing video as well and currently looking at buying virtual dj and a new laptop by April. I currently have the t41 just music for the time.

Either you computer is not powerful enough or there is a problem with the video driver.
