Topic: Ext HD

I pluged ext HD into macbook n it was fine i then ejected the drive & disconected it - now when i reconect it it dose not show on mac anywere although the lights are on - on
the ext HD further to this i tryed the ext HD on my PC and it worked. I'm baffled...

what format is it ?


 
Hi, what format is what?
 
how is the hardrive formatted?

ie fat , ntfs , hfs , extended hfs?
 
Sorry, I have no idea. Please can you send instrux's as to how to check..
 
on your Pc right click on my computer Manage

and browse down to Disk Manager ,

and look for your external drive it will show u what it is formated as



are other usb devices working ok with your mac?
 
Thanks but i don't know how to bring up computer manager
 
it dose say fat32 however
 
i suggest you copy the files off then

reformat your drive to fat 32 again and then try

if it still fails go to aplications > ultilties > disk utilities

and verify your permissions and try converting the image to a compatible format it recommends

you will see a convert button at the top
