The DAC-3 does not need any drivers to work with VDJ - The link above is for PCDJ only.

If you have recently updated to VDJ 5.x, you will need to put the mapper DLL file in My Documents\\VirtualDJ\\Plugins\\ControlDevice

Then make sure the DAC-3 is enabled in VDJ's options.

You can download the DAC-3 mapper again from Downloads -> Plugins -> External Tools:

ok now i think im totaly gone mad, ive done everything mentioned above and ive still got the same problem

when i plug in the unit the system tells me its found new hardware, so i look automaticly for the driver and it tells me its not there, next i look in a specific location and when i go to the above mentioned folders the computer does not see the .dll files

i was thinking about doing it manualy but im not smart enough for that, i have done everything i know of short of re installing windows, the dac3 will light up as it should (all lights turn on and the screens light up)

the program runs fine without the dac3, however i just cant get it to find the unit

The DAC-3 shouldn't need any drivers under Windows 2000 or XP - It's a USB HID device and should be supported automatically by Windows (I don't think there are any - Just a MIDI driver from PCDJ that's not needed if you are using the DAC-3 native with VDJ.) I'm not sure about Windows Vista.

Just one word of advice, plug the DAC into the same usb port everytime or it will search for dirvers.

The DAC-3 is a HID Device as jpboggis mentioned. There are NO DRIVERS ! It is plug and play. Same USB Port each time is not critical - however recommended.

The .DLL mentioned is the plug-in mapper.

First hook up the DAC-3 before you power on the system.
Power up your system.
Make sure the mapper (DLL) is in the ControlDevice folder for VirtualDJ
Launch VirtualDJ, Go to Config -> Remote Control tab -> Activate the DAC-3

That is it and all that is necessary to use the DAC-3. If you are not able to get VirtualDJ to recognize the DAC-3 then their is an issue with the component, cable, or USB port.

Where exactly in my documents would you find--

My Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins\ControlDevice

My Dac3 also doesn't work properly anymore!

Under My Documents, you should have the folders: VirtualDJ -> Plugins -> ControlDevice

If one of these folders (E.g: ControlDevice) doesn't exist, create it and name it exactly as above. Copy dac3.dll into the ControlDevice folder.

Good morning from Germany :-)

I got a new laptop with Windows 7. Win 7 recognizes my DAC-3 as Hardware, but DAC-3 doesn't work correct. I can see the time in the displays and the Start and Cue Buttons blink when in use. But the sotware doesn't work when I press the buttons. I can only do start/pause and cue by clicking on the screen.

Is any sprecial dll or driver necessary for Windows 7?

I'm having the same issue with VDJ7 on my Win7 laptop.
The DAC3 is installed in a club I work at and works fine on my Mac but not the Win 7 laptop... which is a problem not just with my version of VDJ but other's that work the club as well...
Any update?

Feedback to the DAC-3 works and is real time Cue points work pitch bend does too...
All other buttons including play cue pitch slider jogwheel loop in/out/reset etc are unresponsive...
