Topic: pioneer cdj 800 mk2 vs cdj1000 mk3

Whats the difference? Why spend $1200 for the mk3 when you can spend $600 for the mk2 (each deck)

If you are using VDJ or any other software program there is really not much of a benefit of getting the CDJ 1000's. All the features that the 1000's have over the 800's are included in your software.I own the 1000's but bought them when I used CD's. I needed the stored loops, cues, ect...
 
1000 have better pitch resolution...they go down to 0.02 whereas the 800s only go down to 0.05. This means for tighter mixing with the 1000s. However the cdj200 also have 0.02 pitch resolution if mixing is what you really want
 
The 800's look like the best thing for the money!!
 
0.05 you don't even notice anyways...
 
Overall can the 800's do the same job as the 1000's with the same quality?
 
In use with vdj you will get the benifits of waveform on the cdj800 but mxiing won't be as tight. Also when scratching there is not jog wheel adjust like on the 1000 so you only have one setting for scratching. However the 800s are real good players and IMO the next best thing to the 1000s
 
To me if you have cdj800 and vdj is the same as having dvj1000 as you can do everything that it does only the jog wheel adjustment that you cant do.
Its good buying 800 than 1000 is you are not a scratch dj and using vdj.
