I have a laptop hooked to a maya ex soundcard and have output 1 and 2 going to deck 1 and output 5and 6 going to deck two of a VMX 1000 Behringer mixer. I want to be able to play each deck of VDJ in the respective decks of the mixer. Not working as of right now. Also what is best way to use headphones in this confiig? Going to wedding for first time and trying to find best solution. Please help!

i'm not sure if i understand your issue 100%, but i also have a Maya EX (5.1). it should work without any problems in wmd mode. it doesn't support all channels in asio-mode. If you want to use the asio-drivers, i would really recommend an Echo-Indigo DJ (pcmcia.. no usb) signal to noise ratio 111db, 4 channels, fully asio 2.0 compliant.. and rocks @ss in combination with VDJ 2.5

WDM = windows driver model
It replaces (contain) the old "direct x" drivers

I am having no luck getting the maya ex to allow me to come out of 4 of its outputs and go into two different channels of the external mixer. I am going out of outputs 1 and 2 and 5,6 of the card. Any clue. I use Windows XP Pro, do I need to do something to get WMD?

what are your current configuration settings in 'advanced setup'
if you tell me exactly what it says, i can help you. I'm sure you missed some little setting.

DONT use advanced config, this is wrong.
Just use the 4.1 option with external mixer, like i said here:

Set the volumes (master and wave/line to max)
The sound must be better than your on board.
Maya is a good card

Maya Ex is a 4.1 card
Maya44usb needs asio for 4in 4out

Maya EX is a 5.1 card (not 4.1) it has 6 channels of output and it DOES work when you use advanced audio-setup.

propagamma, -if yes- the asio outs (from this driver) is what you see in advanced setup.
In fact what you see in advanced setup is :
1. all available asio outs
2. all available wdm outs
Maya Ex is plug and play, it uses the microsoft "generic"
usb driver. This driver support only 2in/2out and this is the
same with most usb devices.
It is the same for Hercules dj console, and Maya44usb.
ONLY stereo ins/outs with wdm.
Asio is another story.
