Topic: ATTN: ANYONE USING VDJ 5.2 AND HAVE ERRORS?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey guys, its jc again, and I was just wondering, if anyone has run into any kinds of errors, crashes, or freezes with vdj 5.2?

For instance here is whats going on with me. For example, when I mix videos like it freezes on my vdj skin for a few minutes, but on the secondary window where people are jammin out to the music video its still playing fine, like it loads up to much.

Ya know what i mean?

This other problem i have is when i'm going from video to regular music and from regular mp3 music to video it crashes..,

This window will pop up with a smiley face on one end that says "recover and shutdown" or an X that says "shutdown and don't report". Then I have to restart Vdj and it works fine after that. Other times, when i open vdj it freezes up on me, and then i have to restart my pc all over again.

Do you guys think its because i have 4 usb ports on my laptop and i'm using all 4 usb ports?
for example i have a toshiba s4384 so i have my hercules connected to the back of one usb port. then my 1st external on the second port underneath it. The on the right side there are two usb ports where on is being occupied with the m-audio connectiv device, and then my last port its being used by a usb hub that has my mouse and two other external harddrives.

Do you guys think that the reason vdj 5.2 freezes up alot is because of too many ports being used and vdj can't handle that?
Should I go down to vdj 4.3?
I NEED HELP ASAP, lol,

=)

please let me know with any ideas or suggestions,

thanks guys

What are the specs on your graphics card??

jc - read this post -
Read this

One of the errors you are getting are the same that this guy was getting. The reason was that the ID3tag of the file were improperly formed. Read the post it might help.

Hey Cstoll, I took a read into that other post, but how do i turn off the id3tag? and could you explain how the files were improperly formed?

Im still kinda lost, and I do get that smily face error message.

@dj jcfloresxbox360

Thank you for the report. You can now delete the file.

As said by cstoll, "Crash ID=004bfc7a" is fixed in the next release.

thanks dj cel,
so what is it that i should delete? like where would i locate it?
straight from my documents, vdj folder, then that crassh error?

I just told you that you can delete the "crashguard report.txt" now ;-)

Crash Report is in the My Documets -> VirtualDJ folder

The ID3Tag has data in it that makes the ID3 section of the MP3 report invalid field sizes or data when querying the ID3 fields.
Unfortunately I don't know of any fix you can apply to the file to resolve it. But as DJCel said, thanks to the other post the DevTeam has a fix for it as part of the next release.

My only suggestion might be for now to turn OFF any ID3Tag reading (Filename only for Artist/Title, Never Read for Tags, Don't Read for Comments)
