Try to reallocate memory for VM or just buy more RAM (512 MB for $62 USD)

It may seem like overkill, but It works with my system and It's about three years old

Hi this is great i never new this after all these years LOL
am learning all the time i love it.

I have used Task Manager and CPU Usage is low but PF Usage is up at 239 MB

Is this BAD? as i only have 256 MB
This might sound strange but each record has a different reading!
One track had CPU Usage of 14% and PF Usage of 239
then the next as auto DJ ran CPU shot to 100%
The settled at 31%CPU and 231 PF Usage

Many thanks for your advice

Really you could do with 512mb of memory, and a clean, well maintained system, it's best that you don't run any background apps while running vdj, especially if your useing it live infront of people...

It seems that vdj currently isn't very energy efficent, in that it uses a hell of alot of resources, i've noticed everything getting out of control too, it does seem though that each new version is easyer on the system than the last.., so stick with it ;).

In respect this kind of software is very demanding anyway, The more memory the better, but virtual memory alone isn't good enough as it works slower..

Ok no probs i am on the look out for new memory.
I use Virtual DV on This PC too now and again i have found myself draging it along to Disco's and it runs great ..but i do have 1gig of memory and 2.4 cpu.

But i can not afford another Laptop just now...1.2 Intel Celeron will have to doo...but i will find more memory.
I can get hold of 256 so i will have to take one out so will 384 MB be enough?
i hope so
Thanks for all your help.

Rossy ...i use the same computer as you dont change a thing
just do as previously posted add 512 youll have 640ram.......
That's ample to run vdj
xp pro spak2 vdj will cost bout 400mg ram at 50 degrees...this is normal for thinkpad

In a way to reduce they memory intensive VDJ, I usually close out any other programs that I have running in the background through task manager ( ctrl+Shift+Esc brings it up) It has helped me when I ran a lower RAM on my system.

in order to gain some extra memory, you could 'end-task' the explorer itself (as well asl all othe background-stuff)

it saves ya loads of memory.
