Topic: slow system when using timecoded vinyl

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

VirtualDJ gets very (very) slow when I use my timecoded vinyl. For instance, the crossfader moves 'hangs' when I try to move it, but it does 'move' (jump) eventually, both when I try with my mouse or the dj console. But everything else just gets slow (every animation in virtual dj, everything that needs a quick respond (faders, volume, etc)). The music plays normaly though...

The system I've got the tcv on is a pentium3 with about 350 Mb ram. I've installed a clean winxp on it to run virtual dj only.

Anyone else recognise this?

i think that the TCV requires a faster computer, i was running VDJ on a P3 450 for a while and it did work however it had the same problem as you described, i think this is due to not enouth processing power.
natually TCV would require more processing power and it is possable that your system is alittle slow to use the TCV properly

Ok, thanks. I will rebuild my two computers so I have one 'really good' one and one 'normal'. I'll use the really good one for vdj then.
