Is there a way to use all outputs (1-2,3-4,5-6) to play the active table?
And is there a way to use the line-in at the front of the device?
I haven't been able to figure it out, and it seems like it could be used, or else they wouldn't have put it all in there :)

yes... there are...
Saying you have an EXTERNAL mixer, and put the Hercules in advanced mode (right click that green alien head in system tray).
In VDJ, select 4.1 soundcard w/ external mixer.
Now, output 1-2 gives the sound of deck1, output 5-6 gives the sound of deck 2 of VDJ.
This way u can use an external mixer, with music from each deck in vdj going to different inputs at the mixer.
The middle output (5-6) in Hercules is used for Headphone support (output in front), but with EXTERNAL mixer, its better to use the headset output on the external one.
The in-line in hercules can be used too, to connect external devices like cd-players etc. Haven't tried myself, but there has been some post regarding this line-in, as being a bit tricky... But, in Hercules setup (rightclick alien head), you can choose what in-line Hercules should "listen" too : mic, line-in or optical in....
optical in, on the other hand, should make you able to connect say a dvd player, or playstation..or even a game u play that supports surround, and get 5.1 sound, but thats all "theory" - dont know how / if it works. It should, try putting Hercules in 5.1 mode (renamed to "standard" now)
The optical out - could be used to record your mix on for example a mini-disk player.. but again, haven't tried, and there has been some post about people trying to make it work.
