Could someone give me detailed instructions on exactly how to use the headphones in listen mode while either deck is playing; using a stereo splitter and describe that as well.

Also, specific instructions on how to make a USB soundcard work properly with headphones so I can listen to songs not being played if I can get my USB external soundcard to work.

You need to put your card in 4.1 mode and select "Headphones" option in sound config.
 
Doesn't the soundcard have to be a certain type of soundcard for that option to be used (such as a 4.1 soundcard).?
 
Yes, you will need at least 4 channel sound card (2x stereo) for Vdj.
 
Dale, the instructions state at least two other ways to do it if you don't have that type of soundcard, but they are unclear and the sentence strucure is poorly constructed when they explain things.
