I've just bought the Home Edition (it was part of the Mix Station package) . l can't hear the tune l'm going to mix in through the headphones. I've tried all the combinations (including a stereo splitter) without any joy.
Is it the software? Is it my soundcard configuration? What is the cheapest way to solve my dilemma?

The home edition only support ONE soundcard...
To prelisten, that ONE soundcard needs to have two outputs (in other words a 4.1 or 5.1 soundcard, you can get cheap usb ones)
That will give you prelisten to the rear out of the soundcard, and master sound out at the channel 1 out.
Stereo split, 2 soundcards and other settings are disabled in the home edition
