Topic: MP3 encoder versions

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi all,

I'm just curious -- I've been using the program CDex to convert WAV files into MP3's at 320 kbps... I'm using the "Lame MP3 Encoder (version 1.30, engine 3.92 MMX)". Is this the best option to use? Also, within the "Encoder Options", there is a choice of "Version", and these include: MPEG I, MPEG II, and MPEG II.5. I've been using MPEG I -- are either of the other 2 options better? Different somehow? What is the best possible way to optimize MP3 conversion software?

Thanks!
Polo
