Is there any way to lock the jog wheels from creating the forward or backward spin effect.

You can set the jog wheel to be either a scratch wheel or a pitch bend wheel, so the wheel isn't exactly locked, but doesn't mess things up so much if you happen to touch it accidentally during a set. :)
