i am looking for a plugin that will display pictures form a folder on my local drive on the video screen while i am playing music ... any suggestions?

Helps if you have some good photos, too. Get people at your gig to take some photos well in advancxe of the gig and scan 'em in. Watch their faces when they see themselves on screen - or, in the absence of a screen, the wall.
There are also some visuals which can be used to good effect here on the site. You can also display text and the artist and title of the playing record - as long as you've labelled them correctly in the first place. You can also just display black, too.

Beware when using this feature though... your pictures should be cropped to the aspect ratio of your display/screen (ie 4:3 or 16:9) because VDJ will stretch the pics to fill the screen.
