Topic: Corrupt Database

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Some yahoo unplugged my system the other night and now my database is corrupt (I get that message when I start the program). I didn't realize VDJ didn't auto back that up. My bad. My very bad bad. I went to check it, and when I open the xml file, it is a blank document, even though it's 389K in size. Is the file junk, or is it somehow magically recoverable?

Any help would be great.

P.S. Yes, I know I need to get an UPS.

I got a similar problem a while ago, checked with the support team and the answer was that it could not be recovered. The only solution is to either back it up frequently or have a program such as Norton Ghost.

I know this will not recover your database now but I hope it helps.

Jaume

Sometimes it can be repaired, open it with notepad.
</VirtualDJ_Database> needs to be the bottom line.
You may have lost some, but this can recover most of it.
