Topic: Wharfedale SVP 15 Powered: Any Advice?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Well... As I said when I joined the forum, I´m about to buy speakers. After a lot of looking around, I found the SVP series by Wharfedale Pro. I´m looking at active speakers, as they´re normally cheaper.
I wanted to hear your opinion on this particular speaker, which is the one I´m probably going to buy tomorrow, if I don´t get a bad review from you xD...

Here are the specs:

And a photo:

If any of you have used them please tell me what you think, and if you havn´t, just share your opinion by looking at the specs xD

Thanks in advance,

I looked at them. I own a dj equipment sales company as well as a multi op dj company., and my local wholesaler here had some in the showroom.. I'm always gung ho to try out new brands and products... I asked about them, and their opinion was that they are a more consumer grade speaker. they're more geared towards a lighter usage application like a church, school, or meeting room. They're not gonna' fare well as long term dj speakers.

they're a wharfdale dealer, and they recommended against them. they've never steered me wrong...they're just the wrong speaker for the application.

I played with them, and personally, they're a decent sounding cheap speaker.... for the price, there are far better options in my opinion. granted, you can make any speaker sound ok if you eq and process it enough, but i'm still of the mentality that you get what you pay for....

I would go with b-52 if you're looking for cheap cabinets. the quality of sound will be comparable, but the durability will be exponentially greater.

I don't know how old this post is, I happen to own a pair of SVP-15 and I love them.I've had them for 3 years just added a second set of Mackie 18" sub sound great together.
You know too many people go off of people that have not owned or used these speakers, especially dealers. One dealers would say one items is better than that brands is because they're narrow minded. So to me I'll have someone tell me pioneer is the best of all things "Not". Not everyone going to own pioneer or could afford to buy out pioneer. You pay for what you get and only you can determine what's good.

It tells you, June 2006... that's a cool six and a half years! I think they might have gone home by now.... rofl.
