Topic: Scanning For Music - problem with all versions

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I always have a problem when seaching the whole hard drive for music for the database. The crash gard appears every time......but only when it gets to certain files.........these may be mp3's with aparently strange file names...........renaming solves the problem.............especially video files cause's the crash gard to apear so i have to go throught taking all the error creating files and moving them out of my documents so i can scan the whole "my music" folder within "my documents".......i have had this problem with every version i have tried of virtual dj...............2.01 onwards. Has anyone else had this problems, or is it just me?

Is it the pro version you are using? If it is don't forget to enter your serial number in your profile:
http://www.virtualdj.com/fusers/modifuser.html

It would help us know exactly what version you are running and solve the problem.

You have been trialing this software since version 2.01, and still not made any purchase?

WOW.

No, he clearly quoted in his first post,

"i have tried of virtual dj...............2.01 onwards"

I would assume that would make it very far away!

try to isolate the files that it crashes on.
Analyse by directories, not the whole collection.
If you can find a corrupted mp3 that causes VDJ to crash you can
put it somewhere on the net and post a link here so others can confirm it's that file related crash and devteam can have a look at it after.

I am sure if there's a bug it will be fixed soon.
