Not sure that this is technically a "bug" exactly, but it is an issue at least....
The slideshow feature seems to be extremely CPU hungry, causing video to temporarily freeze every 10 seconds as the picture changes, and in extreme cases, to cause the sound to stutter. Granted, I was trying this feature on my crappy slow laptop, not my main system, but it seems to be pulling a lot of resources, especially as they were quite small jpg files i was using.

It's normal: jpeg is a compressed format so you need ressources to decompressed jpeg

Fair enough... would it use less resources if I kept with bitmaps then?
