hey i need to get a 5.1 sound card? was wondering if anyone has a ruff idea how much it would set me back

This type of sound card is not expensive, but i suppose it depends on where you go and what kind you buy. I can pick up a basic one in my area for £25.00 (about €40.00).
In any case, you will not be able to use the full features of a 5.1 s/card unless you register your copy of VDJ: http://www.virtualdj.com/fusers/modifuser.html
