why skins are in .htm format?

that must be because you are using firefox or netscape.
Use internet explorer to download the skins it will solve the problem.

Just right-click the selected skin and select there "SAVE AS" and erase the .htm file extension.
If you already download the fiiles, just erase the .htm extension to leave the file in .ZIP only.
If you couldn't see the file extensions go to your Windows Explorer and select TOOLS->Option Files->View and UNSELECT the option "HIDE FILE EXTENSIONS of known programs" (or something like that). Click ok and you are done to go.

rename to EXE, not ZIP :)
All skins are now in EXE format, for direct install to correct folder.
