Topic: Old music mixing

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi everyone,

Well,I recently learned that I have a bunch of old records left by what seems to be the past owners of our house. I would say they left about 3 boxes (maybe 50-60 records each) of records. The thing is some of it is old 60-80s music. Now I still consider myself new to mixing and DJing. I dont even have DJ equipment (not even a turn table). What I would like to know though is if there is any good music from those records that I could use for mixing. I will post the records titles soon but in the mean time could someone give ideas or post mixes with old music to give ideas. THANKS

I found many old titles to be interesting, I heard one disco song
that I have 2 songs of.

One was just faster version without many vocals (was on ibiza hitz 2-3 years ago)
it's Room 5 & Olivier Chapman - Make love

just speed up the old version and cover with some better beats :-)

and in the half i heard: ... "i can't wait... for the saturday to begin"
exactly the same as michael greys' - weekend , same melody but one word changed :-)

so it's at least good inspiration, and if you plan to play weddings it's good for coctail parts of it.
