I recently purchased a sound card (sound blaster audigy 2 platinum). i have a mixer (gem sound) but I am not able to make the connections work. I have followed the configurations posted in the a website that you guys suggest but nothing. please i need help on this issue.

well, I am trying to use my external mixer with Atomix. I want to be able to mix songs from the external mixer and record it to atomix, am I able to do that?

AtomixMP3 record the deck A and B only. It can't record from an external source (from your mixer)
To do what you want, you have to use another software (like total recorder or other similar software) and connect the output of your mixer in the line-in of you soundcard.
