This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Just threwa new machine together and put the trial version onto it, and here was the problem.
(Version 2.2)

Any song (including the demos with the instal) skipped forward EXTREMELY FAST. played 1 beat in about 10, and the volume was extremely high, even if turned low on both speakers, in atomix AND in the sound-control pannel.

Specifications:
My machine:
3.2Ghz Intel 800Mhz FSB
2Gig Ram
6 channel onboard digital surround (Headphones)
Soundblaster Audigy2 6 channel (Speakers)
6.1 6700 Creative Speakers
Creative Geforce FX 5600 Ultra
Windows 2000 with SP4 and DX 9.0b

After fooling about with it for a while the problem persisted.

With the new high spec boards coming out, Win2K sometimes decides that it wants to run the board and proccessor with multi-threading.

I had reinstalled windows and atomix a few times before i remembered this, and when you go to task manager, and right click on the atomix process you should have a "Set affinty" button. Un-Tick "CPU 1" and leave "CPU 0" ticked.

Just thought id add this to the forum in case anyone was having problems.
