question: when i play the same song on my two decks at the same time with the slider in the middle, it sounds worse than playing only one deck. I have a 3d creative soundcard. Could there be something wrong with the phase of the output?

That's normal, you'll get the same thing of you play the same songs on 2 vinyl or CD desks. That's because your 2 songs aren't exactly in phase. It's very difficult to adjust them perfectly.

On that note, if you do match the waveforms exact, you'll cause a phase variance and one of them will sound like it's almost non existent.

The same thing happens when mixing two tracks together, and the bass kicks are exactly matched. They will cancel one another out.

In fact, be thankful you discovered this because it's one of the coolest effects you can use!

It could have created a Flanger effect too.
