I just watched the hard Rock gig vlog and yeah it's all mix in, echo out backspin,, oh and you did a little scratching in that one......Pretty much all your vlogs are like that....... But ok 👍🏾

Thanks for watching but you also have to keep in mind, I only showed 5 mins of a 5 hour long gig and I was using Serato, which I struggle with so I had to keep the mixing very basic and simple.

Unrelated, Whats up 2Legit! You run a good YT channel! Cheers

Thank you sir! I try my best and do what I can. Appreciate the support!

I guess I assumed that manufacturers would provide equipment/support to the major software companies to help ensure that they have full integration for their hardware. Does Atomix have to buy every controller they map to VDJ? I know Serato is popular but why wouldn't Hercules make sure everyone can use their controller on the day of release? It's not like VDJ doesn't have a devoted user base that might be interested in a T10.

Although I'm really enjoying using the T10, it is a huge pain in the butt trying to DJ with Serato. I don't see how anyone could actually enjoy djing with Serato. You have to work twice as hard to do anything in that program. It's like the program is working against you at every turn.

You should post a video about why you don't like Serato and prefer VDJ. I think it would be fun to watch and read comments from the Serato-heads.

Rage baiting so much salt, sour, and bitterness, from the other side but for a vdj user it would be sweet XD

Because contracts and agreements run the world.
These companies cater to the highest potential user base and would want to grow with the platform.
In a fair/opaque world there would be no pledge of allegiance to a platform (either voluntarily or through contract) and an equal opportunity to all players, but the world isn't a fair place, so sometimes you work with the hand you are given. This is the same story with the streaming platforms and initiatives like OneLibrary - there is no real reason everybody can't be invited to the table at the same time, it's just anticompetitive practices and gatekeeping that keeps that going in all of those cases.

That's why I end up supporting a platform like VirtualDJ rather than others, because even with all the red tape and gatekeeping happening, to date, they still have managed to put out a better product than all of them and they actually seem to care about giving options and value to DJs, not a cash grab every turn (controller deprecation and subscriptions).

Indeed, I love how vdj has a very French attitude to hardware support. [I'm not sure how best to explain the attitude other than the *Gallic shrug* ]
It may take a little longer but if HW introduces a new feature then vdj will offer that feature to all hardware.
Serato users are still wishing years later for contracted hardware features, that atomix were free [no contracts] to just make available to everybody [scratch banks being the first example I can think of]

You don't get the widest HW support by signing contracts.

Stem Split is another one that is available everywhere vs others.

That's why when I see people asking Atomix to partner with a hardware maker just to get a sticker, I wonder if they really realize that their request works against one of the very things that they like VirtualDJ for - hardware freedom and support as far and wide as possible.

Believe me, I have thought about doing that a lot recently. I know it will make a lot of Serato loyalists very mad and just start a stupid war which I really don't feel like participating in lol. But after using both platforms, I can list at least 10 things right off the top of my head that VDJ does EXTREMELY better than Serato and those are the things that make DJing with Serato not enjoyable for me.

Okay, but is that DJ controller market so big that they can afford to ignore potential buyers in order to cater to a single platform?
Just seems odd to me. If all you have to do to increase your customer base is to provide some units and support so that DJ software companies can map your product then why wouldn't you. It's a no brainer.

Different way of earning, serato makes money with the bundled licence on the hardware, so in truth even with a full serato licence a serato user will pay a little something with every controller they buy.

Looking at it that way it makes total sense to lock features to hardware, it encourages more sales and users pay a little something again for something they already own.

Serato says "hey put our name on your controller and we'll provide you with the SW a bit cheaper, but give us the exclusive"

And Atomix shrugs - if it's midi we'll figure it out, just it happens shortly after release.
