How does that rank with other stem separators??
 
So does Engine actually do aim to eventually do it online (reading up how zplane is supposedly light enough to be done on CPUs, at the expense of quality and more latency).

How does that compare to DEMUCS and AudioShake's implementation (which Algoridim licences for DJay Pro/Neural Mix) and VirtualDJ (which you guys pretty much kept under wraps or I don't know where to look)?
 
After some reading I think I have found a way to replace Denons stems with VDJ lol!!
 
I hate to brake the news, but at this point we feel that we need to warn our users to wait and not buy the Prime 4 G2 if they care about using it with VirtualDJ.

InMusic (Denon) claims that support for computer software is coming "soon"
However, at this point, we, as VirtualDJ developers, don't even have a firmware that supports computer MIDI mode to work with.

In other words, we are stuck at waiting inMusic to get ready to release a firmware that will support MIDI, and afterwards we can start working on integration.
This means that "soon" is not that soon..

We don't know how much time inMusic will need to prepare the firmware.
We do know (can estimate within a safe margin) how much time we will need to finish the integration after the release of that firmware.
We also don't know how much time inMusic will need to test/verify/confirm our integration and fix any possible bugs on their side.

So, at this point we don't feel that "soon" is a correct term, rather than "some time in the next few months"

Therefore, if you plan to buy a Prime 4 G2 with the intention to use it with VirtualDJ, please be warned that support may not come soon after all, and that we cannot do anything about it.
 
Here's what Denon posted the other day which suggests the delay is with "partners" rather than them.

Thank you for your information and your "warning". Just to understand correctly. You don't have a midi enabled firmware to work with for both devices (System One and Prime 4 G2)? Or just for the Prime 4 G2?

But in any case, I would like to support VDJ with alpha/beta testing as soon as there is anything to test :-)

Once again, thank you for your hard work!

I posted on the Denon forum that I had managed to import stems from other applications, e.g. VDJ or Nuo Stems, into Engine. Definitely no vibe coding involved.

I didn't create the tool Huey is using though, and I didn't provide implementation details to anyone. I didn't fancy the legal implications.

That said, the encryption key is not hard to obtain and to anyone who knows anything about encryption the format used isn't hard to work out either.

I did also speak with someone I know at inMusic about their stem quality though.
 
Did they give you any insight as to whether better sounding ones were coming?
 
Hi there, first time poster - Apologise if this amounts to not much...

The latest beta enables audio to parse through the Denon G2 - But there is no controls mapped currently. I've tried myself to map basic PLAY and CUE buttons but they don't work as expected.

What works - Audio passing through, Cross faders appear to work fine. (When Omnimode enabled on controller for corresponding decks)

The functions though are NOT replicating on the Virtual DJ Software.

Faders appear to operate independently to the software so that probably needs mapping.

Play button not working - But I don't know if this is a scripting issue or something on drivers side. (Most likely)

Got Cue button to work but it just plays the song and doesn't work as expected. But Play button probably needs a specific instruction to function correctly.

Have not tried linking other buttons as yet. Just need to try and understand the method for mapping better.

At least in Omnimode the audio is passing through the controller. So thats a positive :)

I wouldn't recommend even attempting to use this in live environment as yet.
 
There's no native support for the G2 yet - from any DJ software.

Even the Rane System One is not natively supported yet, by anything other than Serato, after more than eight months (but on the way apparently).

Omnisource is not like simple MIDI mapping.
