I'm starting to organize my library for a full time move from my Intel Mac to a future Silicon Mac purchase. I have transferred my music files and library to an external SSD. I have been using my wife's Silicon Mac to test drive the transfer. I have gotten pretty much EVERYTHING to work seamlessly with very little effort with one exception.
I was able to relocate my files on the external drive and everything plays without issue. HOWEVER, ALL of my LINKED TRACKS show up as FILE NOT FOUND. Is there a way to batch update these as well? The only thing I have been able to do is manually update them one by one as I see them either by relocating the file in the LINKED TRACKS pane or by adding a new, identical linked track from the library and deleting the old one.
Is there a better way?

How did you relocate the files? Was it from within VirtualDJ or at the OS level?

Now that you mention it, I left out a part. I used Lexicon to relocate the files because I couldn't figure out how to do it in batch, and I was NOT trying to relocate 7K files one-by-one....lol

And now, suddenly (and randomly), the linked tracks seem to be working....*shrug*

AFAIK Lexicon should be good with regular file moves and updating the VDJ database.
I'm not 100% sure about ththe Linked files - I believe the devs mentioned that is stored in extra.db that I thought was local to the laptop. Perhaps Lexicon updates that ad well, given it works now?

You can batch copy or move by right clicking on a folder, or selection of files. Under file operations will give you copy and move. Doing it this way will put a database on the destination drive and keep all of you cues, stems, etc.

So yes, if he had made the move in VirtualDJ itself, he'd probably not have an issue, and is the recommended way of doing it, which is why I asked how he did it.
Given he said he used Lexicon, Lexicon may or may not have done the right thing in updating the extra database on the machine itself.
Summary = always do actual filesystem moves (and other edits where possible) with VirtualDJ.
I'd only trust lexicon to do updates that keep files in place (unless the dev says otherwise).

That's just it. Syncing with Lexicon allows me to keep cues, loops, beatgrids, etc as well. It was just wierd that even with the files all being there, the linked tracks were showing as not located. But it started working....I think...lol
