Topic: Missing tracks
Its been 3-4 months now i had the feeling vdj was deleting some of the tracks i play on a set. Yesterday i prepared some tracks in my library played a short set and today i found some of the tracks in the recycle bin.
I use win 11 pc with i7 12th gen 32gb ram with rtx3050.
I use 1tb external nvme drive for my library which syncs to clouddrive (onedrive) oneway. Ps. All my files are read only

Any clue why is this happening?

It's certainly not VDJ. Maybe something to do with the cloud storage?

Files are only deleted when i use vdj, not sure if its during the use or after. How would be a clouddrive issue?

Not sure but it's not possible for VDJ to remove tracks unless being told to.

Certainly i did not tell it to do it. i deleted 5 duplicates and found another 10 track which i had played in the recycle been. What would be the condition for file deletion? I dont think that an onedrive conflict is generated as its an external drive with read only files.

As @kradcliffe said, VirtualDJ does not have any functionality to autodelete track files (files being readonly shouldn't matter tbh), the only way for VirtualDJ to delete a file is to explicitly tell it to do so in the browser.

To understand more of what's going on, probably record a video showing what you are doing, start to finish, with verbal explanation, so that the devs can analyze/try to reproduce.

Not sure how the Cloud Sync fits in, unless there is a conflict with another location that may have deleted a version of the file. Are you syncing to the cloud outside of VirtualDJ? Is there a copy of the actually still in the same expected location of the machine (even though you see it in the recycle bin)?

I keep a copy of my external drive to onedrive in different location (filecopy outside of vdj ). I got one sync with one drive which is the copy of the external drive on my harddrive and one with vdj to clouddrive. Again both syncs are in different locations of onedrive.
After “deletion” vdj shows them as missing (most times thats how i notice) and i dont see the files in the folder.
Video will be a bit difficult but i ll try. Is there another logging option?

Not that I'm aware of.

Best thing to do is write down the steps you take and try to find exactly where and when the tracks disappear. There's no way anyone can diagnose your system or workflow unfortunately.

I ll disable onedrive on the pc and try to keep my recycle bin open to notice what triggers the files deletion. As i don’t have much time to spend on this if you come up with a suggestion that might help me solve this faster i ll be grateful.

Just to add to @kradcliffe's suggestions

This is the key to know that VirtualDJ didn't delete the file - it doesn't know about the deletion and complains about the file being missing when it tries to access it.
Something in your workflow is deleting the files outside of VirtualDJ and you probably need to figure out what that is. Start by removing things that could be doing file operations in the mix (e.g. switch off cloud sync, switch off auto organizing tools within media organizers like MediaMonkey, iTunes e.g.).
