It's been a while but here is a little step by step for those getting into Sound Swicth and are having issues.
1. Check firewall and netstat for the OS2L setup
Best to use option yes
2. Ensure Bonjour is running for network discovery
Pc users need to download that from Apple this will read the best grid data, don't ask why I know it's a printer protocol 🤣😆
3. Create a main folder named “VDJ_SS” it's a lists folder the sound switch looks for.
4. Inside it, create a subfolder called “Mix Day” for your current tracks.. or name it what ever you like.
5. Plan to add future subfolders like “Mix Day 2,” “Mix Day 3,” etc.
6. Drag your entire library or the tracks you want into that in virtual dj, don't worry you are not making duplicates.
7. Open SoundSwitch in “edit” mode, it will now
Detect the Virtual DJ folder from the lists folder, select all tracks, and auto-script them
8. Adjust positioning of the lights in SoundSwitch based on the room layout and what’s available..
9. If you add more tracks into that VDJ list folder make sure to close down Sound switch and restart it so it gets the folder listing from VDJ again. You will see it will take much longer every time it has to reload all the tracks..
