I'm trying to record a little ditty for my bandmate. I need to record the song while I'm singing. It's a karaoke track that I use for practicing. I'm finding lots of YouTube videos, and yes, I tried searching in this forum, to do what I need to do, but none of them work. Most were so old, I'm not surprised they did not work.
This does not have to be high quality. I simply want to record the song, while keeping the video, with me singing the sample that he needs to hear before our live gig. I thought it may be because I'm trying to record in MP$. So I tried to choose wav and then mp3, still nothing.
No matter what I do, it won't work. I can get just the music to record or just my voice. Not both. I even tried the talk-over function. Nada.
I am using a Win11 laptop with a Shure SM 58 mic plugged into the computer using an XLR-to-USB cord. And the most current version of VDJ.
I hope someone can help me. Due to life in general, we can't rehearse together before the show. I need to get this to him.
Every time I try to attach a pic here, that doesn't work either. If someone wants to share that secret with me, I'll post my settings. Thanks!
