What would it take to integrate Apple Music with VirtualDJ?

Would be crazy having access to all those songs while on the road.

It would be nice
But you already have that option from 4-5 other providers in VDJ

What would it take?
Money.
Boatloads of it straight into the pockets of the music industry lawyers and not the artists.
sure as anything, there's gonna be a bunch who just keep using the streaming services instead of buying their music and when they go into panic mode because they can't gig after losing their internet connection all us 'old fashioned' people who bought our music and keep it on hard drives will still be playing while the ones who didn't have to refund the customers.

There are already streaming services in VDJ as you know, and if people want to use them it's their personal choice, not yours.

yes, and how many times have we had to watch people go into panic mode - AND blame VirtualDJ - when they couldn't access them for some reason because they rely on them instead of buying music?
i get personal choice, but we're supposed to help teach the kids to make smart personal choices aren't we?

Well it's the companies decision whether to integrate them or not, and they also deal with the software support so that's it really.

I know. still not sure why we just can't have direct purchase through the software with the various services. THAT would be a real game changer.

Certainly some of the services did once have purchase options - but I guess not enough people used them.
Why would they, if they can pay a small flat fee and have access to everything?
That's the world we live in now. Most people don't buy music any more (even digitally), or buy movies.
Some have grown up not knowing anything else.

Why have a flat purchase (1 fee) when you could continuously charge customers to listen/use that same song?

I don't know about you, but I for one am spending a LOT less per week for music access now than I used to.
Buying music in the 80s/90s I'd easily spend £50 or more each week for a handful of new tunes, whereas today my outgoing is less than £5 per week - with new tracks being added at over 100K every day.
I know what I'd rather pay.

How much is Apple charging the other Dj software providers and why didn't VDJ get access

@groovindj I agree song purchasing/access is much less now, but what I was getting at is, I doubt that is liked by record labels, rather they would want make as much as possible for what they distribute, and a subscription model fits in well with that line of thought - you never truly own and continue to pay to access a song you otherwise would have owned before.
They can (even if very unlikely) also pull content at any time if there is any dispute (which could mean suddenly missing tracks before gigs).

Just to be clear, I’ve built a database of over 50,000 tunes during 49 years as a DJ. I used Promo Only’s video and audio services for 15 years besides trawling through record stores and digitising my vinyl and CD collection over the years.
Since April 2024, I switched to Tidal with the DJ Extension. I download music to an offline locker to eliminate Wi-Fi dependency during gigs. Tidal’s highest quality download option is 24-bit, 96kHz, and includes music videos. Stems are available on them too. Unlike some streaming services with a limited offline locker, Tidal’s limit is based on storage drive size. What’s not to like. 🤷♂️

I already pay for Apple Music, would be nice to have it as an option, that's all.
