Topic: STEM SEPARATION PROBLEM
Hi everyone, I just bought a new MacPro with M4 chip 24GB Memory, it is meant to handle everything perfectly let alone a DJ software. My VDJ crashed twice in the last couple of weeks mid gigs and it makes me furious, I been using VDJ for 5 years now and never had an issue with it. Today I got a message while using VDJ that my lap top is not strong enough to handle real time stem separation in full quality? I mean the reason I bought this Mac is because VDJ started glitching on my old lap top so i thought the issue is in the lap top as that one was pretty old but seems like the issue itself is something with VDJ rather than the performance of my laptops? Help

I run VirtualDJ both on a base M1 (Pro 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) and a M4 Pro (Pro, 48GB RAM, 1TB SSD) with no issues, I'm pretty sure the problem is not with VirtualDJ.

You've not given any info for devs to go on to try to help you, so start with that:

  • Besides your MacBook specs, what does the rest of your setup look like?
  • Could you describe what you were doing to experience the crash?
  • What are your performance settings set to (click the performance category in Options)?

If you were online, the devs would probably have received your crash report.

Aside: The account you used to file this report is implying that you are a home user - unless this is a different account from the one you normally use, you should have a professional or business licence if you are using VirtualDJ professionally (for paid gigs).
