I’ve been using an M1 Mac with VDJ without any issues and successfully used it with a Rev5 last Thursday. Yesterday, I was using my DDJ-1000, and everything was working fine until I tried changing some jogwheel display settings. I had my 2014 Mac connected to the controller for comparison and noticed that some DDJ-1000 settings weren’t displaying the same way on the M1 as they did on the 2014 Mac.
I initially suspected an OS issue since I had installed the latest update earlier in the week. However, after restarting the M1, it wouldn’t reconnect to the controller. I then tried reinstalling the audio drivers and firmware, but that didn’t help.
Today, I attempted to connect the Rev5 again, but it’s not working. I also tested the DDJ-400, and that isn’t connecting either - no signs of the soundcard for any of my controllers and no response from them.
However i did install serato a while ago and it shows my rev5 is connected and i'm able use use it and based on this experience it has lead me to conclude that this is a VDJ issue where the latest mac update (which is a security update) is blocking the connectivity in VDJ with these controllers.

With latest update i'm getting notifications every time I connect a controller to allow it to access the USB device. Maybe you aren't getting prompts and it is just blocking it being accessible. Check you security settings for USB.

At first it was all fine for about a week and then just 1 day while connected to the ddj 1000 and trying to change a hardware setting the mess began. So after a while I wasn't getting anything like what u mentioned and the prompts have always been there. It just stopped connecting to any device.

What settings did you mess up with ?
Check disableBuiltinDefinitions setting and make sure it's set to NO

I didn't mess with any settings at the time and that feature u shared i never touched till now to see it's behavior. Now that i tested it, it maybe possible it was changed by accident.
Just a detailed rundown on how i recall it.
Updated and it worked fine for a week - controller used was a rev5. A couple days later i connect to my ddj -1000 and was trying to do was to change a setting and upon looking at the settings, i noticed none to the "ddj1000" settings were showing up. Did a side by side comparison with a 2nd mac (2014 on catalina), and the ddj1000 settings were all there.
After restarting the m1, the ddj1000 was no longer showing as a visible device so i tried my windows computer on the same cable and saw it connected, so from there i thought it was just that controller cause it did work with the rev5 before.
The day after i tried connect to the rev5 and the sound card didn't show up, and then i tried with a ddj400 and the same result. No connection and no soundcard were seen in the audio setting. Installed serato and rekordbox for a final check and the controllers connected.
Only thing i could think to do from this point was to go back to a previous OS and since i've done it, alls been good.
