Topic: Still having BPM problems
Dear Virtualdj team,
I'm still experiencing issues with my BPM changing numbers . Many of my previous 70(s)BPMs has peculiarly been now registered as 140(s) BPMs. Do you know why this has occurred?

Did you happen to reanalyze your files?
Apparently the BPM analyzer respects the BPM it finds in the tag of files too (so if it was 140 in the tag, the scan may use that value preferentially).

You also might want to set keepBPMonAnalyzerUpdate to yes just in case they make updates to the analyzer but you want to keep the results of previous scans. I've not personally seen an analyzed BPM change for a file without manually triggering a reanalyze, with this setting on.

Thank-you Vinyl so much. I'll try putting on this setting

Does this mean we can force a BPM by changing the value in the tag and it will override the BPM already set by the analyzer? And is there an easy way to move the beat grid manually to line up the beats properly? I couldn't see how to do either of these things in the BPM editor, but maybe I missed something.

It's easy to adjust CBG. Just program 4 spare buttons on the keyboard or controller:
adjust_cbg-1% (move to left)
adjust_cbg+1% (move to right)
adjust_cbg-1 (move beat marker left)
adjust_cbg+1 (move beat marker right)

Ah that's great. I also decided to read the manual (d'oh!) and in the BPM editor its as easy as just moving the red playhead. And I can change the BPM by just typing in a new value in the BPM box. Sorry for the stupid questions lol

No, the BPM that the decks use are always what the analyzer spits out and stores in the database.xml file. The tag BPM only influences the initial scan/future rescans.

The previous comment gave the way. There is also a third-party extension pad page that already have yhe scripts setup to do just that. You can use the pad pagr or you can stral the script and puy it on a keyboard shortcut, modifying it how you see fit (I have this, with two versions of the "move grid" script, one that moves it a lot of ms and one that moves it about 1ms for fine tuning the placement). I literally use those mappings every time I play new songs.
