I've just come back to VDJ after a year away - I see in the changlog that there is now an option to search for videos in Tidal. I have 99% of my videos on my HD (legit bought!), but would like the option for the few I don't have. When I search, I only see Tidal audio though. Is there something I need to do? Thanks!

The videos are straight off YouTube with sound effects, talking etc. The greater majority are no use for live DJ work. Just to make you aware.

Thanks for the warning! I will only use for an odd one or two. Most of mine are from Smashvision or Xtendamix. So is it possible to search?

Yes, just click on the video tab and search.

This is not the first time you've made this claim.
You think Tidal are taking videos from YouTube? That's the way it reads.
More likely that the videos are being officially supplied to both YouTube and Tidal from the same source (label/artist/distributor) - NOT that Tidal are helping themselves to YouTube videos on the sly.

OK Mr. pedantic.
Yes that's what I meant if it makes you feel any better.
Point still stands that the majority of them can't be used with an audience. Completely different to the source material supplied by Xtendamix etc.

Since both the audio and video are available on Tidal, you can of course have VDJ automatically create a video edit :)

Come on Keith................. if someone says or writes "I get my videos straight off YouTube" what are the majority of people going to think that means?
Nothing to do with being pedantic. This is not a small detail. This is you making an incorrect statement.

That's fine in some cases but a lot of the up to date videos have pauses in them (for talking etc) and won't match the audio file.
Also not ideal when playing live really.
Would be great if VDJ had a deal with Xtendamix or Promo Only for example.

The video edits vdj automatically makes do attempt to line up the audio, so it should skip/repeat parts as needed depending on the audio version you use to match it with.

This would make a great topic to cover in a tutorial on YouTube! Calling Klaus or someone at Atomix...
