Last night my mix didn't record. It displayed file not opened for writing?
I've tried reinstalling the software but it won't record.
I have recorded over 200 mixes with no problem and have not altered any settings
Any ideas?

set the path to one where you can write to like my documents in windows

use the 3 dots on the record window

click the box with the three dots and when the window opens select a valid folder for the recording to go to, then give it a file name. you don't have to type in .mp3 or .mp4 - the software will automatically give it a file type depending what you chose from the dropdown menu for format,
