I have been noticing especially since last year that songs are sometimes skipping while playing. Its not that noticebale but it does happen. I wanna note that i play mp3s and also mp4s. It doesnt happen with every song but in a night it will happen every few songs. Any idea what this is? i tried deleting my settings.xml file and using the default one with the default skin and it still happens there as well. Nothing else running on this pc. Also im not connected to hdmi when this happens.

Assuming you're using the Denon ASIO driver, what's your buffer size set to? Have you tried adjusting it?

i dont know how to check any of that. I got a newer computer so ill test it out this week with the new computer. could be some other app interfering.

That's what Google is for. You can't just expect something to magically fix itself without you putting in a bit of effort.
