For the life of me, I forgot something so simple. I want to play YouTube songs off the laptop on my DDJ but it's not connecting. Any advice?? Thanks

You may not be able to do so..
Several Pioneer controllers require ASIO drivers in order to work.
Usually ASIO drivers can be used by only one application at the time.
Therefore, when VirtualDJ (or Rekordbox Dj or Serato for that matter) is running, other apps are denied access to the controller driver and audio channels.
As soon as you close the application and it releases the ASIO drivers, you should be able to playback sound through any application as with any "simple" sound interface.
If your controller is not using ASIO drivers, then check (and disable) the "Allow application to take exclussive access of this device" property on Windows sound control panel
