I am new to DJing and don't know how long between each gig because I DJ a lot of college parties. My lighting consists of an LED Strip. I enjoy using it but I end up not having good lighting effects. Is there software I could get that would help spice up it? I run on a music interface a lot so it mainly controls itself. But I would like some help.

At the beginning u can take a loke for freestyler, there is a plugin for vdj to connect both together.
freestyler is a free dmx light software u onyl need a cheap working usb to dmx interface.
otherwise u can take a look for soundwitch, there u can control phillips hue.
