I have virtual Dj on my Mac for years and when I went to open it tonight, a message about skins comes up and the the computer asks me to retry and I do but won’t open!!! Is there an up grade or something?

sounds like settings are corrupted , rename settings.xml in your vdj folder and try boot again.

You dont have to open VirtualDJ. The settings.xml file should be in /Documents/VirtualDJ folder
