I am having trouble removing instrumental and vocals from a song i keep clicking on detune and clicking vocals my layout is on pro and it wont work can anyone help please.

I have tried updating detune however it says unable to write the update then when I try again it says download failed

What locodog is saying is that detune is not for removing anything. It's a looping effect
You should be on for instance the stems padpage and using the pads to remove parts/stems
... and of course first make sure the stems separation is enabled on your setup, and has been run either automatically or manually on the track
