Topic: Can vdi auto mix and record a playlist with VST effects please?

Hey guys, I would like to put a a CD's worth of tracks into VDJ and have vdi auto crossfade all tracks and record the mix as one file but during the tracks playing I would like to add reverb and delay effects from a VST plugin anywhere in between the tunes, can VDJ do this please?

I just need this for only 2 mixes, can this be done with the Home edition please?
 
it can, home licence users can record & use vsts as freely pro users.
 
Thanks guys, I am trying this all out now, only issue is the VST effects. Please see this screenshot here:

As you can see the youtube tutorial's layout is different from mine on the left and I do not have the "Effects" button to the left of the wheel as in the video. Can it be that I would indeed need to have the paid version to have this option for VST use please?

Oh sorry I wasnt clear in my previous post. I have the VST working as it should and yes the YouTube videos showed the correct instructions. I want to try out the Autobeatmatching feature next.

I must say VDJ has come a long way since I had last used it years ago, I may end up using it instead of Serato.
 
 
Hey guys, only one issue I am noticing. Without any of VDJ's effects [backspin, delay e.t.c] activated, whenever I stop or pause the playing tunes, I am hearing an echo, I can hear it too when I hit Play, any ideas please?
 
I'd guess your audio config is wrong, show us a picture.
 
my mistake sorry, when I restarted vdi it works fine. Might have been some hiccup from trying all of the different effects, all his good, thanks!

Just one more question please, can I use another pane for Search results leaving the main browser as is please?
 
could you explain why you want that, I know a few ways of doing things but none are an obvious answer to what you're asking.
 
Sure. When I search for song it auto loads everything into the browser area removing the folder of tunes which was in there, would be easier if the playlist/browser area remains as is while I work on searching for whatever tunes in another pane/window, not a problem for me just checking in case it might be possible is all.
 
Independent browsers is something asked many times

Currently only "goto_last_folder" can restore previous song list after a search

Cool, no worries on an additional pane, thanks guys. I ran vdi on my DJ rig this morning at loud volume and everything works great including the VST effects, no complaints at all! Think I may need to upgrade my pc though as this old i5 12gb ram machine is a little slow, for my other applications too.
 
little tip "i5" means very little as a technical descriptor, you can buy new i5's today. the number that follows is probably more important
i5 2XXX is more or less a museum piece [like 10 years old, 2nd generation]
i5 12XXX is a newer machine [12th generation]
