Topic: Volume issues

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I use an Alesis Multi Max 4 USB to recording radio shows along with VDJ 2021, Pioneer DDJ SB2 controller and Dell laptop with Windows 10.

I had no problems for years until I had to purchase another USB mixer, same brand, two weeks ago. Now my music volume is now extremely low through the mixer and mic volume won’t pic up won’t pick up at all.

VDJ settings used to be Master and Mic USB Audio, headphones DDJ SB2. Only thing that plays is the headphones. I just want to record my shows and mixes adding voice with the microphone. Suggestions please. Thank you.

How are you routing your audio?
You can in theory add 2 masters in VDJ, but I guess you want to route the controller to the MultiMix and then record the output of the MultiMix?

But could be other way you have routed and setup

Thanks for responding.
The way it was routed with my old Alesis:
Master - USB AUDIO CODEC WASAPI
Headphones - DDJ SB2 WASAPI
Microphone - USB AUDIO CODEC WASAPI (although it was plugged into my controller)
If I leave it that way I only hear sound through my headphones.

The way it is routed now because it is the only way I can get any sound is:
Master - DDJ SB2 WASAPI
Headphones - DDJ SB2 WASAPI
Microphone - DDJ SB2 WASAPI

Microphone comes through my speakers but when recording no volume, bar barely moves. And unlike before the volume is controlled by the channel on my USB mixer. Volume is no where as loud as before. Puzzling.
Appreciate your help.
