Topic: broadcasting issue

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

hey guys.

not your typical question. I've been DJ'ing online for a year using a mouse and VDJ so, my settings WERE correct for that. i have a shoutcast server. connection isn't the issue. i connect just fine, i just now cannot hear what is being broadcasted. no one can. it IS broadcasting, butthe sound isn't making it to the stream for some reason. let me explain.

Now, i have a Pioneer DDJ-SR2, which works with VDJ despite saying Serato all over it.
but when i turn it on, regardless of the settings, it won't broadcast now. (vdj i mean)

the other day, i messed with output and input settings and got it to work. Nothing changed, today it didn't work.

i started shuffling through settings in input and output again, and it would broadcast intermittently while going through the settings, then NOTHING. it completely stopped actually broadcasting no matter what settings i use. there is no broadcast error. it's 100% not the stream. it's a setting, or something..

it shows that it is broadcasting, and it's been running this last time for 13 minutes, looping part of a song but it isn't actually broadcasting. i get sound through my speakers and headphones but nothing goes over the air.

If you want to use the Record input from the SR2, you should also make sure the master is going to the SR2.
If you want to use the master out from your computer's output instead, you should remove the SR2 record line.
