Hi i was just wondering if any of you know how to stop my iPad from trying to use version 7 of virtual Dj remote

did you try:
settings -> Remote
uncheck "look for old v7 remotes"
settings -> Remote
uncheck "look for old v7 remotes"

Yes I did and I have to use v7 and then it disconnects and goes to v8
