Hi,
How do I disassociate the video fader from the volume slider so that video will maintain full opacity? Any help I can be given is greatly appreciated.

It's in the manual. Search for fade

If you click on the settings cogwheel, and go to options you can unselect the link video transition with volume fader there! Hope this helps.
