I've got a ton of karaoke files (mp3+g) and they are not consistently named. I typically use MediaMonkey to organize my mp3 files, but I'm looking for something that will organize both the .mp3 and the corresponding .cdg. Any recommendations for a tag editor that will help with this? I often use the Regular Expression plugin for MediaMonkey to do some of the work, so the smarter the better. Thank you in advance!

VirtualDJ will also automatically rename the .cdg when the .mp3 is renamed.

I looked at this app, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I'll right-click on a track and choose to fix the ", The" issue, but nothing happens. I presume this is a question for the developer - but if someone has experience this, let me know. It's in trial mode.

I think your looking at a trial mode issue.
"Trial Version
Until you purchase a license and activate the program, the program is in trial mode. In trial mode, the program is limited to opening 10 songs at a time and lists will not be automatically saved or loaded. The import "Append" feature is also disabled until the program is licensed. Purchasing a license and activating the program unlocks these limits."

Also, keep in mind, if you rename the files or move them around, your database in VDJ will be wrong. It will report moved or renamed files as missing and you will have to re-add them to the database. This has never bothered me for Karaoke files because I do not set cue points and stuff that would get lost when they go "missing"

Well, that kinda sucks. Hard to really test out the program if it won't save my changes. I totally understand "trial mode", but when you can't actually test it out, it's pointless. My only option, it seems, is to just buy it and hope it works. <sigh>

Thanks for the info!

I can tell you that I am extremely happy with KJ FIlemanager and SongList Generator.
I accidentally had a few drag and drop errors from another user that has made duplicate (triplicates), file moves, etc. that KJF has helped me sort through. My previous disc ripper had either an incorrect database or the disc numbers were reused and I have a few incorrect labels. Working with KJF and VDJ has helped me clear that up.

I would encourage having it write the tag info (it can write it zipped as well). Moving the disc and track info into the tags, correcting artist and title, etc. The reload the tags into VDJ. You can then rename the file in VDJ's tag editor.
