New $500 mixer that has a lot of the same features that a Pioneer S9 has but a 1/3 of the cost. Looks like everything is fully mappable too, which means it should be easy for VDJ to make this native.

Probably sell my Mixars and pick this up as a spare....

3 strange things that i noticed:
- why not use colorfx instead of having what looks exactly like colorfx take over effect slot 1 in the software, and why not let the filter knob adjust the selected effect - of course a VDJ mapping doesn't need to copy that, but can instead improve it
- why only 4 pads pr deck when everyone is now used to 8 pads pr deck. Could be cost cutting, but it'll be the first thing any digital notices (or at least me)
- why only 1 pad selector so that you can't have seperate pad functions on the 2 decks

That's the thing. I really dont think it's just aimed at beginners. The preamps are top shelf it has balanced outputs and it ships with a replaceable innofader
And even if they try to make it cheap, the effect areas I describe are not saving anything. They are just bad design choices. And a korg nanopad2 which has 2x8 pads is $50, so 2x4 more pads shouldn't really have made a difference

About the pads it looks like another model numark have, likely the reused the tooling, since it's a serato branded device you know there'll be a rinkidink mapping to have pad 5 be shift+pad 1

Hi. 6 months later. Did you ever get your Mixars mapped? I have the Primo on the way and am wondering what your experience is with it and VDJ? Thanks!
